Normally, when pineapple are harvested, pineapple leaves come down with the fruit. The company that makes this material takes those leaves, which would otherwise be waste and repurposes them into this material, which we bring to life with our products. We absolutely love this material for what it stands for. While this material doesn't completely eliminate use of petroleum, it minimizes the use of it. Vegan leather IS more than just plastic.
